welcome to dingwall MUSEUM
Through this website we hope to interest you in all that the museum has to offer.
We are a small, active, volunteer-led, treasure trove of history, archaeology and fascinating objects from the past.
We aim to tell the story of Dingwall and the surrounding area over time - of the people who made it all happen, the way they lived, and what they left behind.
We have an extensive collection of material objects, pictures, medals, documents, photographs, displays and memorabilia.
We are open April to October, and then spend the winter recovering.
We want to share our enthusiasm of things from Dingwall and the area with you. We also like a chat!

We are saddened to announce the passing of our previous Secretary and then Chair J R MacLeod, known to all as Ian. Although standing down as Chair in 2023, he continued as a Trustee until his death in hospital on 6th July. Ian's hard work, drive, energy, and inventiveness, for over 40 years, has made the museum into what we know today. He will be sorely missed."

Mmm, this is challenging!. Eagle Court, to the side of the Museum, has been part of the space we lease and have looked after for over 40 years. Because of the unstable state of Eagle House, we have been advised that we can no longer open the Court to the public. Those fine blue gates through which we access the Court will need to stay closed until such time as Eagle House is fixed. That could be a year or two. Really tragic for us to lose this space.
